Where these rates come from
A ruler, not a quote.
Rates are public market data from CoinGecko, which aggregates prices across many exchanges. They are indicative reference rates — the price you'd actually pay anywhere includes spread and fees, so treat this as a ruler, not a quote.
Why two currencies?
Crypto headlines quote USD, but Australians transact in AUD. Both are here, so you can see how the AUD/USD exchange rate quietly changes what a coin costs locally — even on days the USD price is flat.

ConverterThe lesson under the tool
What a converter can and cannot tell you.
- 01
A rate is not a price
The number a converter shows is a mid-market reference — an average across exchanges. Anywhere you actually convert adds a spread (the gap between buy and sell) and often a fee. The bigger the gap between the reference and your quote, the more you paid for the plumbing.
- 02
Units confuse everyone
One Bitcoin costing tens of thousands of dollars doesn’t make it "expensive" any more than one DOGE at a few cents makes it "cheap" — supply differs by orders of magnitude. What matters is the value of the amount you hold, which is exactly what a converter shows.
- 03
Rates move constantly
Crypto markets trade 24/7, so any converted figure is a snapshot that starts aging immediately. That’s why this tool shows a timestamp — an honest number carries the time it was true.
Educational tool. Rates are indicative public data via CoinGecko — not a quote, offer, or invitation to trade, and not investment advice. See our Risk Disclosure.
